There are a few human food items that can be a delicacy for your cat, that said some can be quite dangerous. Needless to say it’s important to tell the difference.
Your fluffy friend will relish and benefit from eating:
Bananas: these yellow treats are a great source of potassium and soluble fiber. That’s great for you as well as your cat.
Eggs: Yes, believe it or not, eggs are a safe and recommended treat too. So just whip up a scrambled egg for your feline pet.
Meat: This one is kind of a no brainer because cats are natural carnivores. So meats are probably the safest human food item a cat can and should consume.
Food items that can be consumed but…:
Milk: whether it’s in cartoons or real life we all know that cats love milk. But contradictory to popular belief, most cats are prone to become lactose intolerant.
Vegetables: Cats can consume vegetables but in small amounts. Also note that undercooked veggies can be hard to digest.
Fish: Just the smell of a well cooked fish can make a cat’s mouth water. But not all fish is good fish for your cat. Salmon, or Mackerel are tasty and healthy meals.
Food items that are a big ‘NO’:
Grapes: Just about any fruit with little hidden seeds can affect your cat in a very harmful way, so grapes aren’t good cat food.
Onions and Garlic: Onion are known to make you cry, they can have a similar effect on your cat. The sulfur compound they contain are very harmful for cats.
Chocolates: We humans love our chocolates but as good as it tastes to us, it can harm a cat’s (even dog’s) nervous system and cause them pain
